There are very many species of pondweed, some are floating on the

like the floating pondweed, that spreads its leaves on the
surface,but
other species are totally submersed.
But all these species grow rapidly, producing a lot of oxygen and
cleaning the water fast. The potamogeton crispens is another
fast growing waterplant.

Pondweed is a fast grower and can easely cover the
watersurface of youre pond. The red leaves are the
new ones, on a stem the remainings of a flower can
