1 Great ramshorn Planorbarius cornreus
2 Great pond snail Lymnaea stagnalis

These two pond snails and the 2 tadpoles are
competing for the pink fishfood. Pond snails are fast if its food
thats waiting. They smell food over long distances.

The great pond snail
Lymnae Sternalis
This large snail lives in the pond or in
the ditches. Its a peaceful animal, eating
everything it can get, like decaying material,
worms and on encrusting algae. But it wll also
eat the fishfood you gave.

This snail has longs and uses them to stay underwater.
Although it also uses its skin to breath, it can
remain underwater in places were the water is very
polluted and contain no oxygen.

This snail can often be found on the surface film
of the pond, gliding and suppling its longs with
air. The opening for the lungs is on the underside
that why the snail glides upside down on the surface.
In the aquarium
Its a nice and useful animal that can become quit
big. It recognize feeding time, its already waitng
for its food.
